Man Utd transfer news: date fixed for Greenwood return

ALUTA EXPRESS provides all the latest Manchester United transfer news LIVE, including updates on Mason Greenwood and Erik ten Hag’s business.

Manchester United need to move players on if they are to add more signings to Erik ten Hag’s squad before the summer transfer deadline. But Mason Greenwood will reportedly return to first-team training soon to bolster the Dutchman’s ranks, with an announcement plan set.

United made a quick start to their summer business, bringing three major signings through the door before the season commenced.

Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund strengthen Ten Hag’s starting line-up at a combined £179million.

But after Dean Henderson, Harry Maguire, and Scott McTominay’s exits fell through, United are left needing to offload more if they want to make more signings.

There are expected to be further exits from Old Trafford, though, including Eric Bailly and Donny van de Beek.

Fulham ‘ask’ about United star

Fulham have reportedly registered an interest in Manchester United defender Eric Bailly.

The Red Devils are desperate to offload the Ivorian this summer and have entertained offers from several clubs for the services of the centre-back.

According to the Daily Mail, Fulham have also ‘asked’ about Bailly as they look to bolster their defensive ranks.

Benfica’s Morato is a top target in that department, but the Cottagers are sounding out alternative options as the transfer window begins to fizzle out.

United told to change transfer plans

Ex-Manchester United star Mikael Silvestre has urged Erik ten Hag to snub Everton’s Amadou Onana and put his faith in Scott McTominay.

The Red Devils are looking to bolster their midfield ranks further this summer, with Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat and Onana both admired.

However, Silvestre believes that his former side is making a significant mistake in overlooking McTominay.

Speaking to Bettingexpert, the Frenchman said: “I understand why, profile-wise, this is a player they are looking for. But when you have Scott McTominay, I don’t see what Onana will add to United if you want to step up and challenge for the title.

“He’s not a player United should be chasing. Physically, he and McTominay have the same profile, and it’s not an upgrade, so I don’t think it makes sense unless you’re looking for back-up.”
