Man Utd transfer news: Pavard approved, Amrabat deal ‘close

Manchester United has it manager , Erik ten Hag to blame as Pavard is approved and Amrabat deal almost close

Manchester United have been busy in the transfer market, but Erik ten Hag still has designs on getting more business done before next month’s deadline.

The Dutchman was believed to be pursuing a deal for Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard, however, that now seems unlikely given that Harry Maguire’s proposed £30million transfer to West Ham has officially collapsed.

There could be better news on the Sofyan Amrabat front, with reports in the Italian media claiming that an opening bid is ‘imminent’. United are expected to step up their pursuit of the Moroccan playmaker after being overrun in midfield during their 1-0 win over Wolves on Monday.

It also seems as though there could finally be some clarity on the takeover saga amid claims that the Glazers are about to sell up for £7.2billion.

Manchester United update: Red Devils sent Maguire mesage

Manchester United have been told that they may have to stump up a slice of Hary Maguire’s wages to get him out of the Old Trafford exit door.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Millwall boss Gary Rowett said: “I think the key behind it is that I am sure that Harry Maguire wants to play football, but obviously, he is also on a very big financial package at Manchester United.

“When you hear that response that usually means that ‘I am not going to walk out easily’. I would imagine that’s the challenge. If a team like West Ham can’t pay the wages of Harry Maguire is on, so whatever fee they pay, then I would imagine, that it’s going towards subsidising that.”

Ferdinand approves Pavard move

Rio Ferdinand has given his approval to Manchester United pursuing a move for Benjamin Pavard.

Talking to Vibe with Five, he said: “He can play center-back, can play right-back, delivery, secure, yes, yes, I’m here for Pavard all day long. Yes, all day long.”
