ESUT SUG President takes academic campaign to schools to mark the International Day for the Girl Child (photos)

In a joint effort to mark International Girl Child Day, the Awgu Town Undergraduates Association (ATUA) collaborated with Donnie Saico Media for an impactful educational and health awareness event held at Urban Girls Secondary School in Ugwuleshi Awgu.

Led by the dynamic President, Comr. Okolieuwa Donatus, who is also the SUG President of ESUT, the ATUA team took the initiative to educate secondary school students on the importance of education and emphasized their rights as students. The event aimed at educating the young girls and fostering awareness about their well-being.

During the outreach, the student body distributed essential educational materials such as books and pens, alongside a substantial number of sanitary pads. This gesture not only facilitated access to learning resources but also addressed a critical aspect of menstrual hygiene.

Expressing genuine support for the girls in the community, throughout Enugu State, and globally, ATUA highlighted the immense potential within every girl. The association urged them to recognize their capabilities and strive to become the changemakers of tomorrow.

The event featured distinguished guests, including the SUG President of ESUT, Comr. Donatus Okolieuwa, Director of Donnie Saico Media, Comr. Silas Okolie, Comr. Joseph Okolie, Ude Joy Adaeze, Nwafor Edith Uzoma, Igboka Daniel, and Amos among other notable personalities. Their presence added significance to the occasion, emphasizing the collaborative commitment to promoting education, health, and empowerment for the girl child.

As the event concluded, the message resonated: empowering girls today contributes to building a more enlightened and equitable society tomorrow.
The ATUA and Donnie Saico Media’s joint effort stands as a commendable stride towards realizing this vision.
